Vancouver Police investigate possible hostage situation

VANCOUVER POLICE INVESTIGATE POSSIBLE HOSTAGE SITUATION

Vancouver, Wash. --On August 12, 2017 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to a disturbance at an apartment complex located at 3205 E 33rd Street. A female resident of one of the units called 911 after a male, who had been staying at the apartment, threatened the three occupants of the apartment with a knife. The female who called 911 was able to leave the apartment but two other occupants of the apartment, a male and a female, are still inside with the suspect. All the occupants and the suspect are known to one another and there are no known injuries at this time. It is unknown if the occupants still inside are being held against their will but the incident is being treated as a hostage situation. Officers from the SW Washington Regional SWAT Team are staging and a search warrant to enter the apartment is being prepared.
