Vancouver, Wash. --On August 12, 2017 at approximately 1:15 p.m. officers responding to the possible hostage situation at 3205 E 33rd Street were loud hailing in an attempt to get the occupants to come out of the apartment. A female exited the apartment and gave consent for officers to enter the residence for purposes of a community caretaking check. Officers did not locate anyone inside the apartment and there was no evidence that the initially reported assault had occurred.

All police personnel are clearing the scene and residents who were temporarily evacuated are being allowed back into their apartments. At this time there is no evidence that a crime was committed and it is unknown if any charges will be pursued for the reporting party.
