ODOT: PDX, Mt. Hood

ODOT: PDX, Mt. Hood: ODOT will close I-5 northbound near Terwilliger Blvd. at 10 p.m. for several hours tonight to clean up the rest of the drywall compound spilled last week. Our original plan called for traffic to help break up the residue, and then eventually rains would wash it clean. But the drywall residue hasn't broken up as expected, and rain could just make it very slick. Tonight at 10 p.m., we'll direct northbound traffic off the interstate at Terwilliger Blvd., and then directly back on to the interstate using the Terwilliger on-ramp. Travelers should experience minor delays and short backups. In the small closed section in-between the off- and on-ramp, we'll pressure-wash the road surface. All lanes of I-5 northbound should reopen before 5 a.m. I-5 SOUTHbound is not affected.
