Bomb Squad Responding to Inner Southeast Portland -- Traffic #Alert (Photo)

On Thursday August 10, 2017, at 2:37 a.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a suspicious device near Southeast 10th Avenue and Southeast Main Street.

The Metropolitan Explosive Disposal Unit is responding to the scene to assess and render safe the item that was located.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be closed on Southeast 10th Avenue from Southeast Jefferson Street to Southeast Taylor Street. There will also be a closure on Southeast Main Street between Southeast Park Avenue and Interstate 84. Traffic will be affected for the next one to two hours as members of the Metropolitan Explosive Disposal Unit investigate and render the item safe.

Members of the public should stay away from the immediate area.
