VEHICLE DAMAGED IN OVERNIGHT SHOOTING IN NORTHEAST PORTLAND'S CONCORDIA NEIGHBORHOOD

On Wednesday July 5, 2017, at 5:58 a.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report that sometime overnight a parked car sustained damage from gunfire while parked in the 5200 block of Northeast 24th Avenue.

Officers arrived in the neighborhood and located the damaged vehicle and evidence of gunfire in the street. No witness information was developed and it is not known what time the shooting occurred overnight.

While it is not clear at this point if this shooting is related to a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of July 4 on the same block, the Gang Enforcement Team responded to conduct an investigation.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 503-823-4106 or email information to gangs@portlandoregon.gov.

Information learned from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be shared with investigators as these tips may lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects.

If you see a gun crime in progress, call 9-1-1.
