On July 2, 2017 at approximately 1:18AM, the Oregon State Police and medical personnel responded to a single fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 126E near milepost 109, in Redmond, Deschutes County.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a green 2000 Ford Mustang, operated by Angela Diane SOUSA, age 35, of Redmond, was traveling westbound on Highway 126E when she failed to negotiate a curve. The Ford left the roadway, rolled over several times, and struck multiple large rocks. SOUSA suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene after lifesaving measures were performed by medical personnel.

Notification to next of kin was made at the scene.

OSP was assisted by Redmond Fire and Oregon Department of Transportation.
