Independence Day DUII Results

Corvallis, Ore. -- Benton County Sheriff's Office participated in extra DUII saturation patrol to coincide with the Independence Day weekend, June 29 through July 5, 2017.

During those dates, deputies working the extra patrol conducted 249 traffic stops for traffic violations, issuing 39 citations.

Deputies arrested four drivers for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. Three were arrested for DUII alcohol, and one for DUII drugs. Other arrests included one for Attempt to Elude, two for Possession of a Controlled Substance, and eight arrest warrants were served.

Nine traffic citations were issued for speeding, one citation for failing to carry or present a driver's license, and four for driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Benton County Sheriff's Office is currently working another DUII Saturation Patrol July 6 through 10, 2017, to coincide with the Philomath Frolic Rodeo. Benton County Sheriff's Office will be targeting drivers under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, and inhalants.
