On Tuesday July 11, 2017, at 5:38 p.m., Central Precinct and Traffic Division officers responded to the report of a crash involving three vehicles on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard and Southeast 22nd Avenue.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and determined at least one person had potentially life-threatening injuries and other persons involved received serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard will be closed from Southeast 20th Avenue to Southeast 24th Avenue for several hours as the Traffic Division's Major Crash Team conducts an investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau is committed to working with our partners in government and the community to create safer streets and work towards reducing, and eventually eliminating, traffic fatalities as part of Vision Zero.
