GRESHAM, Ore.-- Emergency crews responded to the area of NW Division ST and Bella Vista PL where two vehicles collided in an early morning crash. Five subjects were critically injured and transported to local area hospitals for treatment.

The Multnomah County Vehicular Crimes team responded to the scene and an investigation is under way. Although police are in the early stages of this investigation, Officer Jared Hansen of the Traffic Division says alcohol was a contributing factor in this morning's crash. Traffic on Division ST between NW Riverview AVE and NW Towle RD is expected to be closed for at least the next two hours.

At the City of Gresham, we want to remind all citizens of the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol. As we are about to embark on this holiday weekend, we hope that you will think twice before drinking and driving.
