The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office arrested the driver who attempted to elude Deputies during a vehicle pursuit near Colton, Oregon this afternoon. Photos are attached.

At about 1:30 PM on Saturday, July 8, 2017, a Sheriff's Office Deputy attempted to stop a white GMC SUV for traffic violations in the 23700 block of S Hwy 211 which is in the unincorporated area of Clackamas County east of Colton, Oregon. The driver, later identified as Adam Torney, decided not to stop and sped away from the Deputy in an attempt to escape.

The vehicle pursuit ended on a logging road near S Horner Rd and S Hillockburn Rd when Mr. Torney stopped the GMC SUV and ran into the woods on foot along with a passenger. Deputies learned Mr. Torney was likely armed with a firearm as he fled from the vehicle.

Sheriff's Office Deputies contained the area where Mr. Torney was last seen running while Oregon City Police Officer Horton and K9 Mac searched the area. The Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit also assisted in the search.

When the Aviation Unit led Officer Horton and K9 Mac to an area of interest, K9 Mac found Mr. Torney hiding at the base of a tree. Mr. Torney was captured by K9 Mac and arrested by Sheriff's Office Deputies.

The Sheriff's Office would like to thank Officer Horton and K9 Mac in addition to the Oregon State Police for their assistance.

Following the investigation, Mr. Torney will be booked into the Clackamas County Jail on his outstanding warrant in addition to the probable cause charges as a result of this attempt to elude. Booking information to follow.
