BANK ROBBERY FRIDAY AFTERNOON IN THE ST. JOHNS NEIGHBORHOOD

On Friday July 14, 2017, at 1:56 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to the report of a bank robbery at the Chase Bank, located inside the Fred Meyer at 6850 North Lombard Street.

Officers arrived in the area and spoke with employees who told police that the suspect presented a note to the teller demanding money. The suspect implied he possessed a weapon but no weapons were displayed. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the bank without incident.

Several officers checked the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect's description.

The suspect is described as a 21 to 25-year-old black male, 6' tall with a medium build.

Portland Police Bureau Robbery Detail detectives and Federal Bureau of Investigation agents are currently investigating this robbery.
