Vancouver bank robbery suspect arrested

VANCOUVER BANK ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

Vancouver, Wash. -- On June 13, 2017 at approximately 9:09 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to a robbery call at the Wells Fargo located at 8211 NE Vancouver Mall Drive. Witnesses report that a male wearing a face covering entered the bank, displayed a weapon, and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money. He was seen getting into a silver SUV and leaving the area. Responding officers located the suspect vehicle fleeing east of the bank. The suspect attempted to elude the pursuing officers and was estimated to have reached speeds of up to 100 mph. The suspect crashed his vehicle in the 4700 block of NE Minnehaha Street and fled on foot. Officers from the Vancouver Police Department and Clark County Sheriff's Office, to include two K9 teams, contained the area. The suspect was located just south of the vehicle crash site by a K9 and was taken into custody.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital for evaluation of any injuries. His information and charges will be released once he is booked into jail.

During the pursuit, the suspect hit at least one civilian vehicle. The Vancouver Police Department is asking any outstanding victims to contact the Vancouver Police Department at 360-487-7355.

The investigation is ongoing and nothing further is available at this time.
