Suspects Identified, Arrested in TriMet Bus Operator Assault (Photo)

Transit Police Division officers, with assistance from the public, identified and arrested the three young women involved in an assault of a TriMet bus operator.

18-year-old Jada Thompson was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Assault in the Third Degree, Interfering with Public Transportation, Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of Pepper Spray in the Second Degree.

The other two people arrested were a 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl on charges of Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of Pepper Spray in the Second Degree. They were lodged at the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home (JDH).

These arrests come as a result of an investigation into an incident that occurred on June 9, 2017, at approximately 11:38 p.m., when three female suspects spit on and pepper sprayed a TriMet bus operator in the area of Northeast 42nd Avenue and Holman Street. The suspects boarded the bus near North Lombard Street and Interstate Avenue.

Numerous tips were sent to investigators, leading to the identification and arrests.
