On Friday June 2, 2017, at 3:09 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the report of a bank robbery at the US Bank, located at 410 Southwest Harrison St.

Officers arrived in the area and spoke with employees who told police the suspect demanded money from the teller but did not display any weapons. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the bank without incident.

Officers checked the area and located a man who matched the description of the bank robbery suspect near Southwest 16th Avenue and Southwest Jefferson Street. The suspect was taken into custody.

The bank robbery suspect, 30-year-old Timothy Chapek, was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on Federal bank robbery charges.

Portland Police Bureau Robbery detectives and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents are investigating this bank robbery. Anyone with additional information regarding Chapek is asked to contact Detective Brett Hawkinson at 503-823-1080 or Brett.Hawkinson@portlandoregon.gov.
