Police Bureau Seeks Public's Input on Directives (Photo)

The Portland Police Bureau directs member action through the establishment of policy, procedure, and rule, as found within Directives. The Bureau is in the process of reviewing all of its Directives.

Currently, the Bureau is asking for the community's feedback regarding the following Directives:

* 900.00- General Reporting Guidelines (this is a new directive)
* 905.00- Non-Force After Action Reporting (this is a new directive)
* 1010.00- Use of Force
* 1010.10- Deadly Force and In-Custody Death Reporting and Investigation Guidelines (formerly titled Deadly Force Procedures)
* 1020.00- Weapons Administration (formerly titled Firearms)
* 1021.00- Weapons Qualifications (this is a new directive)

These directives in Second Universal Review will remain posted with comments collected from Friday June 30 through Friday July 14, 2017.

Community members are encouraged to read the Directives and provide drafting comments at: This web page also enables community members to sign up for email notifications when new Directives are posted and access the Directives Project review schedule.
