MAJOR CRASH TEAM RESPONDING TO FATAL CRASH ON MARINE DRIVE

On Friday June 30, 2017, at 2:27 p.m., North Precinct and Traffic Division officers responded to the report of a serious crash at Northeast 148th Avenue and Marine Drive.

As officers were responding they received updated information that a witness was attempting CPR on one of the people involved in the crash.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and determined that one driver was deceased.

Preliminary information indicates the crash involved three drivers and vehicles: a tractor-trailer and two passenger vehicles. No other drivers were injured in the crash.

The Traffic Division's Major Crash Team is responding to conduct an investigation into the crash.

Northeast Marine Drive will be closed for several hours between 122nd and 162nd Avenues due to the ongoing crash investigation. 148th Avenue from Airport Way to Marine Drive is also closed.

The Portland Police Bureau is committed to working with our partners in government and the community to create safer streets and work towards reducing, and eventually eliminating, traffic fatalities as part of Vision Zero.
