Detectives Seeking Public's Help in Homicide Investigation (Photo)

Portland Police Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public's help to aid in a homicide investigation.

On Monday June 12, 2017, at 12:27 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to a residence in the 3500 block of Northeast 10th Avenue to conduct a death investigation.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and determined that the resident, 36-year-old Brian Elton Spaulding, was deceased. Based on observations at the scene, Homicide detectives responded to the scene.

This morning, the Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that Spaulding was the victim of a shooting. The Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.

At this point in the investigation there is no suspect information on known reason why Spauling would be killed.

The Spaulding family has requested complete privacy at this time but has provided a photo to be shared publicly.

This is the 10th homicide in 2017 in the City of Portland.
