-- Sheriff's Deputies arrested five people on various charges after concentrating their enforcement efforts on certain houses that generate a large number of calls for service. Drugs, guns, and cash were also seized during the mission.

These houses generate and an inordinate number of calls for service and are suspected of illegal activity.

Using a number of investigative techniques, deputies were able to conduct traffic stops that led to the issuance of a search warrant resulting in the arrest of five people and the seizure of approximately one pound of methamphetamine, six firearms, and about $3800 in cash.

Thirty-nine-year-old Cynthia Silva of Forest Grove and 36-year-old Jose Cervantez of Cornelius were arrested for possession of meth during a traffic stop conducted at 7:15 p.m. near the 2500 block of SW Golf Course Rd. About a half of an ounce of meth was seized as a result of the traffic stop. Mr. Cervantez was also arrested for a violation of a restraining order charge that stemmed from a previous incident.

Forty-one-year-old Teresa Navarro was arrested for Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Meth) during a traffic stop in the area of SE 3rd Avenue and SE Baseline St. About three ounces of meth was seized during the stop.

Deputies served a search warrant at 706 S. 8th Ave. in Cornelius where they arrested 52-year-old Vince Breiding of Cornelius for Distribution of a Controlled Substance (Meth). Also arrested was 53-year-old Dawn Lamping for a felony federal parole warrant. Nearly a pound of meth was seized at the house along with three pistols, two shotguns, a rifle, and $3800 in cash.

Chief of Police Al Roque said. "Cornelius and its residents are incredible and we want everyone to help make it a safer community. If you see a crime or any suspicious activity please call our deputies to come check it out, we can't do it without the communities help. If you see something say something."
