BEAVERTON, Ore. -- The Broadway Street Festival is right around the corner. Don't miss an afternoon of street vendors, food, arts, crafts and music presented by Bob Lanphere's Beaverton Kia in partnership with the City of Beaverton and the Beaverton Downtown Association. The festival will be held on Saturday, June 24, from 3 to 8 p.m. in downtown Beaverton.

This year's festival has been expanded to three city blocks, spanning SW Broadway St. between SW Watson Ave. and SW East Ave. Streets will be shut down to allow the community to walk through and enjoy the festivities. Shops and restaurants along Broadway will showcase specials and activities, with more than 20 vendors lining the street, selling a wide variety of food, arts, and crafts.

The festival will also include City of Beaverton and community information booths; a Tualatin Hills Parks & Recreation kids' activities booth; a sports activity area presented by VillaSport Athletic Club; beer gardens provided by Ringo's Bar and Grill, Bootleggers, and Broadway Saloon; and a pie eating contest and cookie decorating provided by Beaverton Bakery.

The main stage at Broadway & SW East Ave will feature live music all day from local groups Bottleneck Blues, Neftali Rivera, and Time Machine. This year's event also features "Opera a la Cart," where attendees can select from a menu of available songs to be performed by the Portland Opera.

Admission to the event is free and members of the public can catch a free pedicab ride at the Beaverton City Library at 12375 SW Fifth St., provided by PDX pedicabs.

This year's presenting sponsor is Bob Lanphere's Beaverton Kia. The Broadway Street Festival is also supported by 97.1 Charlie FM, OnPoint Community Credit Union, German International School, VillaSport, Beaverton Bakery, Pacific Continental Bank, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, and DeCarli's.
