Gresham, Ore. -- Saturday, June 10, will mark one year since the stabbing death of Annastasia Hester. Gresham Police and medical personnel responded in the early morning hours of June 10, 2016, to the 100 block of S.W. Eastman Parkway on the report of a stabbing. Hester had suffered multiple stab wounds and was transported to an area hospital where she later died. Since that day, detectives have been working diligently to find her killer or killers.

Detective Aaron Turnage said, "Combing through mounds of evidence takes time." Since the early stages of this investigation, detectives with the East County Major Crime Team have worked tirelessly on this case and after processing the scene and collecting the evidence, detectives are now relying on assistance from forensic experts. The Oregon State Crime Lab has worked to prioritize numerous pieces of evidence in this case and the Gresham Police Department has outsourced additional processing needs to independent labs. Turnage said, "We have sent evidence to independent labs that specialize in certain forensic testing that is not currently conducted by the Oregon State Crime Lab."

The Gresham Police Department has partnered with Crime Stoppers of Oregon and are asking for the public's help to solve this homicide. Crime Stoppers of Oregon is offering a cash reward up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect or suspects in this case.
