UPDATE - SHOOTING INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY IN NORTHEAST PORTLAND'S CONCORDIA NEIGHBORHOOD - ONE PERSON INJURED

The victim in last night's shooting, a 34-year-old female, was treated and released from a Portland hospital. She was unable to provide any additional information on the suspect or reason for the shooting.

Based on information learned during the investigation, the Gang Enforcement Team responded to the scene and will continue the investigation.

On Tuesday May 16, 2017, at 10:32 p.m., North Precinct officers responded to Northeast 33rd Avenue and Killingsworth Street on the report of a shooting.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and contacted the victim, a female adult, who was suffering from a leg injury. The victim was transported by ambulance to a Portland hospital for treatment and is expected to survive her injuries.

Officers at the scene learned that witnesses heard several shots and that a black sedan sped out of the area after the shooting - unknown if it's related to the incident. The victim was walking to her car when she was shot by an unknown assailant. It is not yet known if the victim was the intended target of the shooting.
