UPDATE - SERT/CNT RESPONDING TO ASSIST CENTRAL PRECINCT ON SHOOTING INVESTIGATION

One person has been taken into custody and officers have checked a residence in the Pearl Court Apartments to ensure there were no injured people inside. SERT and CNT were recalled and the scene is now secure for investigators. The PIO is not responding to the scene.

Based on information learned in the preliminary investigation, the Gang Enforcement Team has responded to continue the investigation. A vehicle parked in front of the Pearl Court Apartments is being examined as part of the continuing investigation.

No further updates are expected this evening.

Anyone with information about this case or other gun crimes in the City of Portland is encouraged to provide information to the Portland Police Bureau's Tactical Operations Division at 503-823-4106 or email information to gangs@portlandoregon.gov.

Information learned from social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter or YouTube should be shared with investigators as these tips may lead to the identification of a suspect or suspects.

The Portland Police Bureau's Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) are responding to the Pearl District to assist Central Precinct officers on a shooting investigation.

Interested media should stage at Northwest 9th Avenue and Irving Street. The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responding to the scene.

Pearl District traffic in the area of Northwest 9th to 10th Avenues, Lovejoy to Irving Streets is likely impacted by this police activity.

This investigation started at 9:25 p.m. at North Broadway and Flint Avenue on the report gunfire in the area where occupants of two vehicles were possibly shooting at each other. No victims were located but multiple updates reported to 9-1-1 led officers to the area of Northwest 9th Avenue and Lovejoy Street to look for one of the involved parties.
