Police Arrest Suspect after He Pepper Sprays Lake Oswego Police Officer (Photo)

On May 5th, 2017 at about 0500 hours Bill Paul Anderson was arrested and charged with Assaulting a Public Safety Officer, Unlawful Use of an Electrical Stun Gun, Tear Gas or Mace in the First Degree and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.
At about 0430 hours Lake Oswego Police, Officer Price stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Carman Drive and Fieldstone. As he approached the vehicle the operator, later identified as 46 year old Bill Paul Anderson reached out the vehicle window and sprayed Officer Price with bear pepper spray.
Anderson then sped off in his vehicle. He was later located and after a short pursuit he ran from police. A containment was set up with the help of West Linn Police and the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
A K-9 unit from Tigard Police Department arrived to assist and within a short time located Anderson hiding in a shed. He was taken into custody without further incident and lodged at the Clackamas County Jail.
Anderson also had multiple outstanding arrest warrants.
Officer Price was treated by AMR and sustained no serious injuries.
