PERSON DECEASED AFTER JUMPING FROM BURNSIDE BRIDGE

On Wednesday May 17, 2017, at 12:49 p.m., Central Precinct officers responded to the Burnside Bridge on the report that a person jumped off the bridge and landed on the concrete below.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and located the person, an adult male, deceased on the concrete bridge piling below the south side of the bridge.

One lane on the top of the bridge is affected until the investigation at the scene is complete and the Medical Examiner takes custody of the body.

Preliminary information indicates this is a suicide.
