On Tuesday May 16, 2017, at 12:44 p.m., North Precinct and Traffic Division officers responded to the report of a crash involving multiple drivers on Northeast Marine Drive, just west of 122nd Avenue.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and determined one person was deceased and others suffered injuries, although none appear to be immediately life-threatening.

Northeast Marine Drive will be closed from 33rd Avenue to 122nd Avenue for several hours as the Traffic Division's Major Crash Team conducts an investigation.

The Portland Police Bureau is committed to working with our partners in government and the community to create safer streets and work towards reducing, and eventually eliminating, traffic fatalities as part of Vision Zero.
