BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Night road work will take place from Sunday, June 4 through June 16 on SW Murray Blvd and SW Farmington Rd. The night work includes grinding, inlaying and the final paving of the intersection at Farmington and Murray as well as on Farmington 500 feet west of Murray. Night construction will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Farmington at Murray will be closed intermittently and Farmington at Murray to Hocken Ave will be closed to through traffic.

During this time, vehicles and bicyclists are urged to use alternate routes such as Allen Blvd and TV Highway. Detours along TV Highway and 160th Ave will be set up to direct traffic around the Farmington closure.

Beginning June 4 to 9, grinding and inlaying will take place on Murray Blvd at Farmington. Beginning June 11 to 16, grinding and inlaying will occur on Farmington west of Murray and move to Farmington from Murray to Normandy. The final paving of Farmington will take place during the remainder of June into the first week of July.

Traffic will be redirected at Hocken Ave and closed at 142nd Ave and Farmington intermittently. Emergency and local access will be allowed through.

With more than 30,000 vehicles traveling each day on Murray and more than 28,000 vehicles on Farmington, night work is used to lessen the overall traffic impact. Please check for the most current information on traffic impacts.

The joint project between Beaverton and Washington County is scheduled for completion in July. June and July include the final phases of paving, restriping and landscaping. Improvements include:

* Installing bicycle lanes, sidewalks and street lighting
* Realigning 141st and 142nd Avenues
* Upgrading water and sanitary sewer lines
