May 1, 2017--The Washington County Sheriff's Office hosted a drug turn-in event on April 29, 2017 at three drop-off locations around Washington County. During the four hour event, the Sheriff's Office received about 443 pounds of drugs for destruction. This event is in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Agency held every April and October.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office also has Prescription drug drop boxes available year round at the following locations:
* Main lobby at 215 SW Adams Avenue in Hillsboro. The lobby drop box is available between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., seven days a week.
* East Precinct office at 3700 SW Murray Blvd. in Beaverton. Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday.
* Bethany Station at 4876 NW Bethany Blvd. (In the Bethany Village Shopping Center). Office hours are 8:30am -- 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday.
The Sheriff's Office collected about 1283 pounds of unwanted drugs last year for destruction from our three collection sites. You can drop off prescription medications and samples, all over-the-counter medications, vitamins, pet medications, medicated ointments, and liquid medication in leak-proof containers.
The Sheriff's Office believes this program will help keep unwanted prescription drugs from falling into the wrong hands and avoid pollution from improper disposal.
