Death investigation underway on S Elwood in Colton connected to stabbing in Estacada

On Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 2:14 pm there was a 911 call from the Estacada Harvest Market Thriftway, 280 S Broadway in Estacada, saying a male entered the store covered in blood holding a knife and what looked like a human head. A short time later another call came in saying the male had stabbed an employee and was being held down by other store employees. Officers from Sandy Police who contract police services for Estacada and Deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene arriving at 2:20 pm. The male suspect was taken into police custody and later transported to the hospital for unknown injuries. Please see the press release from Sandy Police for further details.

On Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 2:35 pm there was a 911 call from the 25000 block of Elwood Rd in Colton. The caller reported finding an adult female inside a residence who appeared to be deceased. Deputies responded to the scene along with officers from the Oregon State Police and Molalla Police. Deputies located one deceased adult female inside a residence.

The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team and Detectives from the Clackamas County Sheriff's office responded to the scene.

The incident on Elwood Rd is still under investigation. This incident is connected to the scene at the Estacada Thriftway. Investigators have determined that the death investigation originally reported by Sandy Police at the Thriftway actually occurred at the Ellwood Rd location. The suspect is in custody and there is no threat to the public at this time.
