On April 27th the members of the Lebanon Fire District gathered to honor the service and accomplishments of their peers. The District held it's annual banquet at the Boulder Falls Event Center which was attended by over 100 district members and their family. LFD members range between less than one year of service all the way up to their most senior volunteer, Captain Bob Berry, who marked his 58th year with the district.

Firefighters from the Albany Fire Department and Sweet Home Fire & Ambulance District provided coverage for Lebanon during the event in an attempt to allow on-duty members to attend the ceremony. Their coverage was quickly put to use, as a working structure fire with possible trapped victims was reported just as the awards banquet got underway. On-duty LFD crews quickly responded from the banquet, and along with the Albany and Sweet Home crews they extinguished the blaze and transported one victim to Lebanon Community Hospital with smoke inhalation.

The Lebanon Fire District administration is extremely proud of the work that their members do each day, and they know that their members are just as proud of their peers. "We are fortunate to work with such an incredibly inspiring group of people every day, and the community of Lebanon is lucky to have such a dedicated group serving on behalf of the Lebanon Fire District." said Fire Chief Gordon Sletmoe.
