Hospital Caregiver Pleads Guilty, Will Receive 25-year Sentence

This is an update to our media release from September 15, 2016. Refer to original media release for additional details.

February 17, 2017 -- Adeladilew A. Mekonen pled guilty this morning in Washington County Circuit Court. He was previously indicted for 28 different crimes, all involving sexual contact with female patients at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center.

Mr. Mekonen will be sentenced in Washington County Circuit Court on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 8:30am. The negotiated plea agreement is that he will serve 25 years in prison.

Sheriff's detectives assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit wish to thank Providence Health & Services for their complete cooperation throughout this lengthy investigation.

Washington County Senior Deputy District Attorney Megan Johnson prosecuted this case. Hillsboro Attorney Seth White represented Mr. Mekonen.
