Deputies Arrest Man for Menacing Women with a Bat and Resisting Arrest

February 15, 2017 - Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a man after he menaced three women with a baseball bat, assaulted one and resisted arrest.

On February 14, 2017 at 9:35pm, sheriff's deputies were called to the Country Haven Mobile Home Park at 23585 NW Jacobson Road on a report of a man, 33-year-old Darnell J. Labossiere, threatening people with a baseball bat. It was initially reported that the man struck an adult female resident with the bat.

When deputies arrived on scene, Mr. Labossiere was uncooperative and fought with them as they tried to take him into custody. During the struggle, he punched a sergeant in the head. Deputies finally used a Taser to help subdue Mr. Labossiere. Neither the sergeant nor Mr. Labossiere was injured.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Labossiere had threatened three adult females with the bat. He also physically assaulted one of the females, though not with the bat. There were no serious injuries to any of the victims.

Mr. Labossiere was charged with Assault IV, Unlawful Use of Weapon (three counts), Menacing (three counts), Resisting Arrest and Harassment. He is currently lodged in the Washington County Jail, with bail set at $250,000.
