On December 25, 2015 at about 5:14AM, OSP Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near milepost 76 (Wolf Creek). Upon emergency crews arriving on scene, they discovered the driver of a 2014 Chevy Impala deceased in the vehicle.

Preliminary information indicates the Chevy was traveling southbound on I-5 when for unknown reasons it left the lane of travel, struck a barrier and came to rest on the shoulder. The driver was identified as Paul J DELLAPENTA, age 50, of Renton, Washington.

Based upon the minimal amount of damage to the vehicle, it is believed DELLAPENTA may have suffered a medical condition prior to the crash. OSP was assisted on scene by Wolf Creek Fire and the Oregon Department of Transportation. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it becomes available
