What: The Oregon Task Force on Researching the Medical and Public Health Properties of Cannabis -- the Cannabis Research Task Force -- is holding its second of three meetings. The meeting is open to the public.

Agenda: Welcome, introductions; identify legal barriers to establishing laboratories that research medical properties of cannabis; identify legal barriers to use of institutional review boards for research on medical properties of cannabis.

When: Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, 3-6 p.m. A public comment period will begin at 5:45 p.m.

Where: Portland State Office Building (PSOB), 800 NE Oregon St., Room 1A (first floor). The next meeting will take place January 26 at Oregon State University in Corvallis.

Background: Senate Bill 844, passed in 2015, created the Cannabis Research Task Force to study and publish a report on the development of a medical cannabis industry that provides patients with medical products meeting individual patient needs. The task force consists of 15 members appointed by the Governor.
